Fashion Trends of Note!

I do love fashion and as a designer, have long been aware of the relationship between fashion and design. The two are and will always be intrinsically linked. I love that colors in fashion have a moment and we see those same colors in fabrics in our design studio. 

Here are some fun fashion trends having a moment!

Vests

Nothing new here-I love them and have been wearing them for two seasons now so am so glad they are still around and thriving. 

Long, cropped, in linen or other blends, -these look great with pants, long shorts (love these!)I think vests are here to stay.

Peplums

This was a bit of a surprise but hey, I love these. Here's the change--no flare, just smooth. I like that and with the right pant, skirt, longer length short--this can look very chic.

Lace Trimmed Details

As a mature woman, I struggled with this one. Then I saw a pretty white blouse with minimal lace and thought, hey, this can work for me! Since jeans are a big staple in my wardrobe, a pretty top like this with simple jewelry looks pretty. 

Claudine Collars

So basically, this is a Peter Pan collar. To be honest, I’m not sure I like this one, but trends like this are worth mentioning.

Scarves

I am sure you have seen how the scarf is trending. I recently wore one around my neck with shorts and a tank top and I was complimented on my "french" look. But scarves are being worn on the head and on the hip. I love this and feel very Euro-chic when donning the scarf that way!

Matched Sets

This continues to trend and certainly makes dressing so simple and easy. 

Long shorts

I really love this one because I can wear this to work and still feel so professional. A crisp white blouse, belt and cute sandal finishes this look for me when working. Add a heel and a pretty top for drinks with friends--I hope this continues to trend for a few seasons.
