Intentional Living Spaces
In an increasingly full life, our homes play an even greater significance. While renovations are big and exciting and life changing, I have also realized that small things can profoundly affect our homes too.
These intentional changes within our home can bring joy, harmony and peace.
Here are some ways to enhance and create a soothing environment.
Embrace Nature
Letting nature in is a great way to do this. I often mention using fresh flowers and foraged branches throughout my home but large green plants/trees should also be considered. Even the ritual of caring for these green giants can add fulfillment and joy.
Add Artwork
Why not add one bold piece of art? Consider an abstract, bold, colorful or unique piece that speaks to you. Hanging it in a primary spot you frequent ensures you enjoy it on a daily basis.
Get Organized
De-cluttering spaces can declutter a mind. I like to tackle small areas like a tabletop or a shelf. Intentionally creating clear areas can create greater satisfaction.
The Senses
Engaging the senses includes not only something like a scented candle but also tactile features. A soft rug to step on when you get up in the morning can provide this benefit. Or consider a playlist of music to enjoy.
Consider Lighting
Lighting is often overlooked when designing a home, yet nothing is more important for creating moods. I like installing dimmers and have replaced lightbulbs with 2700K or lower for a softer vibe.
Never forget that your home reflects who you are and this intentional living can certainly create joy and harmony.
